IMPORTANT DROUGHT INFORMATION AND RESTRICTIONS
Golden State Water has implemented local conservation standards for its water systems, reflecting the State Water Board’s revised emergency regulations that were issued on May 18, 2016, then extended on February 8, 2017. Many of Golden State Water’s systems now have voluntary conservation goals, while others (Edna Road, Cypress Ridge, Nipomo, Ojai) remain in mandatory conservation under the Staged Mandatory Water Conservation and Rationing (Schedule 14.1) due to local water supply conditions.
Please visit www.gswater.com/drought for additional information and to review the water-use restrictions, conservation goals and reduction mandates for your community. Please check the “Message Center” at the top of your bill's back page for irrigation restrictions in your area.
Effective December 1, 2016, Stage 2 of Mandatory Water Conservation and Rationing (Schedule 14.1) will be implemented for Cypress Ridge customers.

On April 12, 2017, Golden State Water Company (Golden State Water) will host two community meetings at the Cypress Ridge Pavilion to meet with local customers and provide updates on the local water system, conservation requirements, water supply conditions and upcoming re-assignment to the larger Santa Maria Customer Service Area (CSA). Golden State Water’s Coastal General Manager Mark Zimmer and his staff will lead the discussion and answer any questions from customers.
Cypress Ridge’s long-term transition to Golden State Water’s Santa Maria CSA was first communicated with customers in October 2015, after Golden State Water finalized an agreement to acquire the local water system from Rural Water Company.
The transition will culminate on April 20, 2017. On that date, Cypress Ridge water rates will be adjusted to align with Santa Maria CSA rates recently established through a General Rate Case filing with the California Public Utilities Commission. (Please note: Effective March 20, 2017, a “2016 WRAM/MCBA” temporary surcharge will be implemented to recover under-collected revenue from 2016.) To learn more about these upcoming rate changes, please visit www.gswater.com/santa-maria .
Your water service will not be interrupted during the transition; however, Cypress Ridge customers will benefit from new customer service and payment conveniences.
Golden State Water has been providing water service for more than 85 years, and our team of more than 500 professionals is committed to delivering quality, reliable water and service to the Cypress Ridge, formerly RWC, community.
We hope you will join us on April 12, and we thank you for being a valued customer.
